Susan Armitage
I am an experienced Primary School teacher, having taught from N.E. to Year 8, mainly rural primary schools, but also including two special character schools and some town schools. I have held positions of responsibility ranging from Curriculum leader, ESOL teacher, SENCo, Acting Principal to Teaching Principal. I have a Bachelor of Education (Teaching), Diploma of Teaching; Post - Graduate Diploma Specialist Teaching - endorsed in Learning and Behaviour. I was a qualified SPELD teacher during the years of 1993 - 2015. I have been an RTLB since 2016, working with students and teachers in Years 0 - 10. I initially worked in Hei Huruhuru Cluster 17 (based in Te Kuiti, Otorohanga and Te Awamutu offices). I moved to Te Horanui Cluster 36 at the beginning of 2020.
My passion is to make a positive difference for every student, whanau and teacher. I love working alongside teachers, building their skills and empowering them to make a difference for their students.
I am passionate about IYT, PB4L-SW, Literacy, Numeracy, Specific Learning Difficulties, Social and Emotional skills/development, ESOL, enhancing teacher skills, knowledge and classroom practice.

I love being outdoors - gardening, walking, tramping, exploring. I have two grandchildren (who presently live in the North Island). I am involved in Youth Work with a local church group. I enjoy music and singing; I play a variety of instruments (though not as well as I would like!!).
